Eames-Inspired Storage Unit
This piece is a personal interpretation of the iconic Eames Storage Unit 400.
I’ve modified the original structure by creating equal-height tiers throughout, adding symmetry and rhythm while honoring the modular essence of the original.
Details:
Materials: Hemlock, plywood, yucca board, aluminum hardware
Features: Sliding panels, open compartments, box-jointed drawers, and mid-century screw-on legs
Finish: Clear matte varnish or oil to preserve natural texture
Dimensions: 48”width x 63” height x 17” depth
Price Range: $2,300–$2,800
Note:
Slight imperfections—subtle tool marks, wood grain variation—are part of the story. I value the wabi-sabi in each build.
